Till death do us part” is an extremely familiar phrase that is commonly associated with marriage. It is a phrase that comes from the marriage liturgy in the Book of Common Prayer. Despite that many couples marriages end with divorce instead of death. Divorce can be a stressful experience affecting the couple in more ways than one, apart from mental well-being, it affects individual finances, housing and specially the children involved. The legal process of divorce can be complicated and involves issues of alimony (spousal support), child custody, child visitation / access, parenting time, child support, distribution of property, and division of debt.
