Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. It is a type of cancer that originates from the breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Breast cancer occurs in humans and other mammals. According to the NHS, about 48,000 women get breast cancer in Britain each year. Most (8 out of 10) are over 50, but younger women, and in rare cases, men, can also get breast cancer.
